ATHAN ASKED ME TO DECLARE A STRIKE IN IMO STATE: AJAERO 

According to an insider report, Joe Ajaero, the National President of NLC, has confirmed to some of his associates that the strike action declared in Imo State was an orchestrated plan during a recent meeting he had with Sen. Athan Achonu in Abuja.

Ajaero revealed that his actions are being orchestrated by Sen. Athan Achonu, who, in their terms of agreement and payment fully made in US Dollars, directed him to discredit the Governor and inflict pain and suffering on the people of Imo State for refusing to support his candidacy. When questioned about his attempts to incite unrest in the state, Ajaero said that the first strike action was largely unsuccessful due to lack of support from the people of Imo, and he will stop at nothing to actualize this one while waiting on the Athan to do as agreed.

He noted that he stands to benefit greatly from Imo State as his home state if Sen. Athan Achonu emerges as the Governor, as he promised to make sure that his anointed candidate emerges as the NLC state chairman and will place him on a monthly salary of over 5 million naira as well as other promises made.

“Sen. Athan Achonu is desperate to become the Governor of Imo State and if I fail to deliver based on our agreement, he can go to any length to recover his money, which will ruin my reputation and office, as Nigerians have started to see me as lacking in trust and character”, Ajaero revealed.
